Default Off side jump help

I have a slalom background and have just started trying to wakeboard, I have gone twice. I jump very easily from one side but from the otherside, which in slalom terms I would call the offside turn I can't jump at all. It feels very awkward with my back to the boat and I hit the wake and jump and nothing maybe 2 inches. Any hints on coming at the wake better and jumping better? Also any really easy tricks to try once I get good at jumping from both sides?

Toeside!!

Toeside is a little tricky- The key is in the handle and the cut. You want to keep the handle tucked right into your leading hip, which is more important toeside than heelside. My second tip is to cut up the wake,, almost as if you want to cut through the wake, but just as you dip into the bottom of the wake star to straighten your legs and push off the top of the wake (not bending your legs which is a common mistake). Toeside is all about practice, everyone abuses toeside, so as a rule for every good side (heel) jump you do, try a toeside jump.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask anything else,

Luke

Thanks, I only get to go out on the weekends so I will try it again this weekend. And now I know what to call it to toeside. You are right about people not doing it, on my lake almost none of the wakeboarders do it and now I know why its really hard but I am most impressed watching the ones that can jump both sides so I am determined to get them both.

I need some info on landing jumps period. I have no problem getting air but seems like the rope gets slack when I'm landing then have nothing to stable myself out on. Do you land with the majority of your weight still on the back foot?

I have no idea if I am landing more on my back leg or not it feels more even to me but my back leg is really sore on my thigh the next day so maybe I am. I don't usually have slack rope though.
