Default Toeside wakejump

I have just landed the most painful toeside wakejump ever. Admittedly i landed the jump on my face.... my board came off one foot and wacked my back so hard i was unable to continue out on the most amazingly hot summers day we had today! But i still got a lot done.

Anyway, any tips on how to land toeside wake jumps? the main problem is that my back foot comes round while in the air, so that when i land, my toeside edge faces the boat, and then comes the familliar face pain. Somebody mentioned today that when you are in the air, you should hold the handle really low down under your hip?

Imagine that you are putting a seatbelt on, and that is the position that you wanna keep the handle throughout the jump. Close to your front hip.

The most important thing is to keep your head facing where your back foot is pointing throughout your aproach and landing ( this will automatically force you to bring your front shoulder into the correct position ) and as you get in the air keep a strong body position with your chest out and head up.
As soon as you land keep edging out. Best to land with two hands until you get really comfortable, as it will give you better technique in the long run.

Best to take a short, ( 5ft ) approach for a start and get used to the correct position and edging. As you get more comfortable increase the distance you cut in from. You will have em in no time.

Yeah - the two hand thing is really good advice - I've started letting go with my rear hand far too early and now cant seem to make myself hold on with two - as a result I can barely hit the second wake toeside...

Just practice after that. It took me ages to learn even with people constantly telling me how to do it.

For some reason, i cannot seem to let go anyway! i never had done with my heelside wake2wakes, and to be honest, i would quite like to start letting go now with the heelside ones for some cheeky grabs.

As for the toeside jumps, they are getting better. Since my last post, i basically lengthend the rope and took a short run up, just planning to clear the one wake and take it slow! I found that when i land these, if i lean my body over the front of the board, i keep on my toeside edge and follow it through. I have kinda lost my confidence a little though and dont make an aggressive approach to the jump. I am way to worried about what happened last time.
