Ha. No, boat tows mainly, I have only been up to the cable at Boxend once so far. I think the callouses may also be from riding my motorbike... you can't really see them, I can just feel them and my hands get a bit sore when I'm boarding sometimes & i've never noticed having them before. I use fairy liquid to wash up you see so my hands are extra girlie and soft hehe \

ahem

marigolds... ok so if I wear gloves i'll end up with popeye looking forearms. I've noticed that some of the boys wear gloves & the girls don't bother. Thankyou for all your advice though guys!!!!

Best way i find to keep your hands in one piece is to use surgical spirit to toughen up the skin on your hands, if your riding all the time just rub it in every night and it stops the skin from building up too much. I've ridden most days since start of the season and its kept my hands in one piece.

If you do go for gloves, marrigolds are the best for winter as it keeps your hands from getting wet and therefore freezing off in December and January. Best thing to do is to go to a cleaning supply company so you can get some black ones, that way you don't look like a complete fool.

Tankgirl, perhaps you could do with a softer handle, Fred now has a Ronix handle (Thanks chris) which is really soft suede, maybe worth looking at something like this.

fairy is the worst thing I have found for my hands. Dishwasher all the way... I use a Ladies LF handle the Angel has a slightly thinner core & feels good to me .
