Default Binding Setup

Hi all,

After a while of using hire boards at Sheffield and Box End Cables, I have finally splashed out on my own board (a Ronix Vault 144)

I am at a "more advanced beginner" level I suppose, able to jump off dock and ride round quite a few laps without getting tired and dont really crash in normal riding.

My question is how best to position and angle the bindings - All boards that I have ridden / hired / borrowed have already had bindings on that I have never altered. It seems that most of the boards i have used seem top be pretty staight on the back foot (i am left foot forward) and about 20 degree angle on the front. This seems confortable but I aint got on the lake yet.

Cheers
Paul

Bindings should both be set equally toed out slightly, but trial and error will determine how far toed out you feel comfortable with. You have a large board, assume you are 6' plus and or quite heavy? suggest you set bindings in centre holes to start with but difficult to say without knowing your height, bearing in mind holes are already quite wide on a 144 board.

Cheers for the quick reply,

I am about 6' and also of a large build, weighing in at about 15 stone (210 pounds). I was advised to get about a 142 - 144 board by various people including cable ops at Sheffield, Box End, Wake MK and the bloke in the shop. I just forgot to ask binding setup advice. Anyway will be out on the lake somewhere this weekend.

Someone else suggested trying to mimic the jump as i would do off dock in the living room and set the bindings up "as i land" so to speak.

Paul
