Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum. I live in Scotland and have only recently got into Wakeboarding but have enjoyed the three lessons I've had even more than I enjoyed snowboarding. I've taken 2 lessons at Sammy Duvall's in Orlando in 2006 and one just this month again, but feel I progressed reasonably quickly in those three lessons. I've bought a few wakeboarding mags over the past year or two, both in the US and the UK, but before subscribing to one I'd like to know what you guys think are the best mags. I have copies of Wakeboarding (a US magazine) and Wakeboard (UK) but have not seen Alliance Wakeboard (either US or UK versions). I quite liked Wakeboarding and thought Wakeboard UK was just a little too thin on articles etc for my liking. I'm used to magazines with more substance and I already subscribe to Whitelines for snowboarding. What do you guys think is best for wakeboarding (and are they published over the winter to keep me getting a fix until the weather warms up?)? Cheers. ![]() |

Definitely Alliance, if you look back on posts by sim on this forum you can get the link for Alliance and look at the magazine on line to see if its what you are looking for. It is a magazine that is very much in touch with the uk wakeboard/wakeskate scene. Iam sure sim will read this and give you details.

Hey, am from *sunny* Greenock and regularly in Glasgow most weeks at some point. It's just a quick jaunt across the Erskine Bridge to Loch Lomond. Am thinking of giving Lochearnhead a try because there seemed to be a more structured lesson programme there, but of course I'm up for going where people I meet go. I haven't yet ridden in Scotland so am a complete newbie, and I think I'm good managing to cross the wakes without falling (much!) (not w2w jumps I may add!!!).
I did like Wakeboarding Mag, but you say Alliance Wakeboard is better? Is it better to get the UK version or the US? Or are they both sufficiently different to be worth a look at individually? |

You’re in for a culture shock getting your ass in Loch Lomond if you’ve only ever boarded in Florida.
You may notice its one or two degrees colder!
