Default Rope length

Is there any particular rope length that is the best to use?

its down to where your wake is best on your boat!

If you have a outboard or inboard outboard you'll probably need to ride a shorter line because of the condition of your wake. Try and get the handle at a length wear the wake is least broken, least white water.

Also its down to how experienced the rider is. An absolute beginner can be put on a long line to give them room in-between the wakes. Then when there ready to go for wake to wake jumps start off with a short line, making it easier to clear them and then increase the length to what feels right for them.

I think a lot of people ride a 65 to 75ft line off inboard boats with towers, but pros ride longer. I think Randal Harris rides a 95ft line!

as said earlier depends on the line. When i ride the x2 i ride at 75, but when behind a malibu response its way in at 60-65. Just have a play, start short and see how long you can get it whilst still clearing the wake consitantly with a good pop and height. You want to be landing on the down slope of the wake, if your landing beyond this your either going huge or you need to move the line out a bit.

Yes but Randy Harris also rides at 28!!! Probably not a great example for newbies unless they really want to feel pain!

But yes it really depends on what the boat and wake are doing.

I rode an X-Star this winter on 75ft line at 23 and that was perfect, but
now at Chichester on the Pro Star I have to ride 65/70-ft line at 19...
