Question Foot Pain and Sound System

Hi All,

New to the forum and been wakeboarding a few months now in southern spain, recently bought a 2000 sea ray 180BR with tower so can ride anytime the sea allows!

Firstly the boat is in need of a decent sound system and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on this as the exisiting radio cassette sucks!

Secondly no matter where i put the binding angle on my front foot from 12 - 24 i get intense foot pain on the outside of my foot and my toes go numb, ive tried doing them up less tight but then i get movement, any ideas??

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like you have some ill-fitting bindings.

If your foot is moving around while they are too loose then you will have less control and it can be dangerous... but having them so tight you have pins and needles aint good either. You should consider trying out some new ones, maybe a friends? to see if it is the bindings or a problem with your foot.

As for the sound system.... wait for more replies!

Most important question when planning any kind of stereo upgrade is:
What do you want from it?

Do you want to integrate iPod? Do you need Radio? Do you want ocean shaking bass or just enough sound to comfortably hear whilst underway? Do you want tower speakers so you can listen to your tunes whilst you ride? Etc etc...

Most people these days go down the iPod route and ditch CD's altogether.... Something like our Fusion iP-500 allows you to slide your ipod inside and locks it away nice and dry/safe/warm. You can then control it and pull up all your tracks from the remote control or the front of the stereo unit....

Next 4-6 speakers within the boat is plenty... the Fusion unit would power all these as it can control upto 4 zones (each zone being 2 speakers). But most stereos will only control 4 speakers as standard... plus amplifiers... something to take into account.

From the basics you then need to plan how loud you want everything and to what quality. this will lead you onto the answers to what speakers and what amps (if any) to choose. And if you are going multi-amp you may need to consider more than 1 battery etc...

Boat audio is simple but it needs to be done right. If badly planned or badly installed the results will be poor. I've seen £300 systems blow the pants off £3000 systems just because they were horribly setup, badly installed and poorly spec'ed with product that didn't work well together.

Feel free to fire some more specific questions and I'll do my best to answer these for you!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for the responses,

As for footpain, how strange i rode last night with no problems at all!!!!! odd!

On the sound system front i would say that I would use my iPod touch rather than any CD's. I would like to have a sound that is of high quality and so that you could hear it when underway and riding.

I am in the market to purchase a new sound sytem so if you can give me some package examples and shipping to Spain Mike that would be great.

Many Thanks.
