Basically riding on salt is far tougher and more manly than riding on girly fresh cos saltwater is more dense and correspondingly more resilient when you catch a HS edge and go down in a shower of spray with a 'SLAP' that can be heard in the boat.

So there! We are nails, 'freshies' are pants.

I have a friend who rides on fresh water. He can't help it. We call him 'lake boy'.
