Default Sea Temp

How do you saltys cope with the sea temp? I would not even get my chick in the boat on the sea never mind ridin on the sea. I must admit the one time I did ride on the sea I was so cold. How do you keep warm and how long are your sets?

The sea stays pretty warm in the winter. Yesterday a there was a guy in the water in just a shorty.

Even in Jan and feb its not thjat bad, drysuit or decent steamer and you'll be fine.

Of course a boat with a heater helps, as does plenty of hot drinks.

was out on the sea on thursday in a shorty - wasn`t to bad. One of the best days we've had out there, sea was like a lake and not a sole out there. We got a good five hours out there.

think it will be a full suit job this week. feels a little cooler and there is more of a breeze.

Depends where you are but in the Westcountry its boardies from June to August then whatever you need to keep warm. I know people who go in in boardies in winter but they are daft. Personally its a good plastic thermos full of sweet tea and my wiff's hot water bottle to stick down the front of the wettie when you get out. mmmmmMMMMMMmmmm When its cold people tend to get changed as soon as they get out or if you want more than one set you bring a windshell to put on over it and some wettie boots.

Unhappy

i've found that the sea temps arent as bad in the winter as lake temps in the winter. Same goes for summer, the sea never gets as warm

I was out surfing at Croyde this past weekend and the water was lovely, no boots or gloves required. The surf was massive, and I got a kicking, good fun though
