I popped into the crownline dealer in Bristol harbour on saturday and they had some big 22,24 foot + boats, spec'd in the wakeboard edition. Those crownlines are big wide boats with a lot of free board and are very good in rough water, don't know what the wake would be like though, The guy said they also had a demo one on the water in portishead marina, it's yellow with black tower i think.

cheers
ross

There is a 24ft crownline in out club. Its fricken huge plus it has a platform on the rear big enough to land a small helicopter on.

No idea what the wake is like as most of the time its moored up or towing an inflatable.

Popped in to the Bristol Crownline dealer, both at their yards in the centre of Bristol, then at the one opposite my house in Portishead. The Bristol location had a large red Crownline 225 LPX BR which was nice but had been sold.

Back at Portishead I got a tour round the
Crownline 202 BR LPX, which had just 18 hours on the clock and was a 2003 model.

Here's the broker's web page: http://www.bristolyachtbrokerage.com...php?BoatId=168

I liked the wide beam and quality of the fittings. The tower was a bit rough and looked to me to be fitted to far to the rear of the boat. Colour is a bit brash but I've seen a good number of Mastercrafts and Tiges in yellow so would need to see this Crownline on the water to give a final judgement. I drove the missus past and she wasn't overly impressed with the colour and chestwig checker bits on the side.
Engine was a
Mercruiser 4.3 L MPi Alpha, approx 220 hp so probably just enough for wakeboarding if ballast is added to the boat.

All-in-all I haven't discounted it from the search, am thinking it's a high quality boat that would be a great runabout, not sure whether it'll do the job wakeboarding wise however... anyone out there ridden behind a 202?

Default That Centurion Enzo

Spotted that 2005 Centurion Enzo SV230 for sale:
http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/EBY650/ and
http://www.essexboatyards.com/stockl...Enzo-SV230-600

Also tracked down what looks like the owner posting about it last year:
http://www.wakeboard.com/wakechat/sh...2112#post22112

Wonder why they sold it just a year on?

I'd see if you can get a 350 v8 rather than the 4.3 v6. The v6 will be lacking in torque, sure it has the power but at wakeboarding speeds you need the torque of a big engine.

Jon has ordered a 06 enzo to replace the 05. Mercedes techies must earn far to much wonga!

Good advice regarding that torque. I'm not a small bloke so would hate to be hanging on whilst an underpowered motor chuffed it's way up to speed with me on the back and a couple of fatsacs onboard.

That Enzo does look awesome and very good to see that the previous owner liked it enough to buy another. Been doing a bit of web research and hear good things from other Centurion owners so I'm currently liking the combination of real wakeboard boat + decent sea going potential + non-astronomical prices.

2004 Avalanche at Azura

I contacted Azura regarding their 04 Avalanche to see what it's story was. From the reply back it's done about 95hrs with 70/30 salt to freshwater use. Maintenance wise they have flushed it every salt water run and it comes with a saltwater package including brass fittings.
So as I see it the pros and cons are:
Pros: Proper wakeboard boat with all the trimmings I want including perfect pass, beefy engine, large interior, depth sounder, flash paint job.
Cons: It comes on a trailer (I don't need one), it's a 2004 model (but then it is priced that way), it's been standing around for 2 yrs, it may be trickier to resell vs a Mastercraft.
Anything I've missed that you guys may have spotted?
