Default Tidal Height

Chaps (chappettes),

I've finally got tidal data (in electronic format) to allow me to predict when it's deep enough for me to ride.

However, it would be good to do the same for everyone else... what I need is where you ride on tidal waters and what is the minimum depth of water you need to safely go out:

e.g.

Location: Portishead
Minimum water depth: 4.5m

ps. attached piccy of the flat water (yes I know it's brown) from last weekend.. sweet session it was.

Ok, the first draft of the app works rather well ;-) Have a look at the attached capture... now I need to know what else I should look for weather wise: I'm guessing we need:

Wind speed < 5mph
Swell < 1m
No rain

Anything else I'm missing... e.g. direction of tide (e.g. incoming, outgoing)

Dude I'm sure we all appreciate the effort and all that but isn't this a bit of a geeky way of finding out the conditions. Hell its just a bunch of numbers!

Well it's a bunch of numbers now... but it will gradually morph into a very simple and handy resource suitable for everyone who doesn't feel like looking at tide tables/weather charts/guessing.

My plan is to get a magic seaweed like resource : Surf Reports, Surf Forecasts and Surfing Photos

Ok seeing as the weather has been pap for the past few weeks I can see that perhaps you may have had time on your hands but I think you should get out more
