wakeboardtowers.co.uk will hook you up with a proper heater craft marine unit. Salt water will reduce the life of the heater core but you should still get a good few years out of it. I'm on my 3rd year with mine without issues and the heater core is easy to replace anyhow.

About £100 for the core so not too major when you take into account the other financial outlays on a boat in general maintenance.
The core will last as long as you look after it... if you never flush your boat (and use it in salt) don't expect more than a couple of years. but if you flush it after use then you can expect it t last for ages... if you salt-x your cooling system after each use then there's no reason why it won't last just as long as the exhaust manifolds/risers.
