Default Mark Warner Holidays

Hi

I'm considering a Mark Warner holiday. Anybody got any experience?

Their Paleros hotel in Greece is a 'Water skiing and wakeboarding specialist centre'. Anyone been? What is the tuition like? And the hotel/food?

Thanks for your help.

I've been to paleros , they have a 21 foot sportique xls which is quite good, but the water is not very flat apart from at 7am, hotel is good and food is nice, i have just come back from "The retreat" in sivota, which is a neilson resort and is way better, it is surronded by islands so always have flat water and have 3 ski nautique 196's with ballest, resort and food is better too.

hello mate,
i worked for markwarner in Paleros last season.
the conditions all depend on when you go. low season (out of school holidays) is def best as its not so busy so you will get your 2 free ski's where as in peak season you might not to get to ski everyday because of high demand, what ever the brochure says.
Also the weather is cooler which means the winds dont get up so much and the conditions are better. Where the private boat is run it is generally flat and you can have some good sets even behind the xls!
The tuition was great last year as i was there! but on a serious note i know some of the guys who are out there this year and they are top quality
I would advise taking your own board out, which cost me nothing, as the boards are fairly basic although i guess this expected.
The hotel i think is rated as 4* but this is only because it has two pools and two restaurants, i wouldnt say it was the must luxury hotel but you certainly wouldnt complain. The food is good and the staff are excellent.
great place if you want a relaxed holiday with a real layed back atmosphere.
Paleros town is about a 20 min walk and has some really nice bars and restaurants and a pretty heavy drinking atmosphere...most staff are pretty hung over most mornings...but the guests are usually much worse off and dont notice!
If you want any more information then just shout.
good luck
chris

I've just come back from Ortakent, nielson in turkey. Top week, it was very quiet so got to ride pretty much as much as you wanted. Everyone who wanted was getting 3 or 4 tows a day in and you could have had more. It's a bit windier than Sivota, so more options for sailing and windsurfing, but less for boarding and skiing - just depends which way you look at it.

Can't fault it at all, brilliant food, nice place, nice people. The standard of instruction was excellent as well.

I'd recommend nielson to anyone.

i am back recently from San Agustino, Katamala with Mark warner

i only did 2 tows as it was a dare having never tried it before, the boat was fine and he were great with beginners. had me up first time every time.

food was great, i did alot of sailing as well, again, great for someone who has only ever been in a swimming pool!

when i was boarding it was mirror flat in the morning. i took this photo of my friend who dared me to try it and who is now responsible for me spending silly amounts of cash on boards and other bits.

that was taken at probally 8:45am mind you, but it was like that most of the morningl

deoendson what you want, mark warner heavly discount a few weeks before, i paid £500 for my week, where is would have been 800 off had i booked in advance. but i had to pay for the boarding. neilson dont discount but you get all the tows you want. so its pretty much of a muchness.

either way. recomended. i didnt want to come home.
