Default Wakeboards on planes.

Hey guys,

I'm going to america in a few weeks and wondering whats the deal with taking your board on a plane? I've heard they normally charge but wasnt quite sure.

any help would be great.

They will know everything!

Toby you take out a trashed board and bring back a nice new one. shouldnt have to pay on virgin ba or american.

I wish that was the case Nick! only if i had the money. My board is pretty much dead now...two weeks of sliders and cable will do it some good. Not sure who im flying with at the moment, my mum booked it and i have no idea. Will have to wait untill i get the babys through the letter box.

Apparently on some airlines it is better to say its a waterski than a wakeboard, wakeboards get charged as surfboards so I have heard ? I am sure some well travelled boardies will help ! Plenty of pipe lagging around the edges & stuff in some towels or gear to padd out you bag .
