Also ive been thinking about general rules for the nationals....

Such as

-Riders must be enroled in the university they are representing (this would prevent uni's from getting their mates to compete who may be really good, therefore keeping it fair for those students competing)

-No profeshional or sposored individual riders (unless they compete in there own division, posibly)

I know the first sounds abit obvious but people will do it, there just ideas so let me know ur opinions and if you thinks there's anything important that needs to be included.....

Ok I've spoken to JB and BWSF what we're looking at 16th - 18th of June for the nationals, the 16th will be the day that people arrive and get chance to have a ride and have a briefing in the evening before the comp starts on the 17th. Hopefully everyone will be finished their exams by then, unfortunately most of our best riders will be away working abroad for the summer. The entry deadline will be around the 25th May. This is so we can make provisions for the boats, judges and a timetable for the event.

The entry fees have not yet been decided but i think it will depend on what disciplines you enter and the number of riders you enter purely because we're not paying for the boat, but per set, the cable will be different.

Once we've broken down the costs properly and worked out money coming in from sponsors then I'll let you know on the cost.

Any problems with those dates?

Laters Gregg

Oh yea does anbody know of any sponsors who may want to get involved?

gregg,

those dates are good with us.

Just wondering about the boat costs, are they gonna still be £18 per head, or will it be broken down into the clubs competing?

also, are we going to enter individuals, and have them pay individually, OR enter and pay as a club, and just try to fill each displine with a member of that club. The only reason i suggest the second option is that it would make admin' of the event a lot easier aswell as balancing the skill variety from cable to boat giving more of a club competition rather than an individuals competition.

hope that makes sense, i can really waffle sometimes.

cheers
harry

How we are planning on doing the scoring is that you will be competing both for your club and for yourself.

Depending on which category you enter i.e. 1st or 2nd team depends on the points ur limited to...

for example if you came first in the 1st team category then you would get
40 points
second 38 points
third 34 and so on

But if you were competing in the 2nd team and came 1st you can olny get a maximum of 30 points for first place.... and so on

All of these points will go towards ur clubs total so therefore its in ur interests to get people competing in each event!

If u understood that!

Default Scoring system

Hey gregg,
Have you seen how the collegiate nationals in America scores,
Take winner of category, he/she get 1000 pts say he/she gets 49.5..
49.5=1000pts.
say runner up gets 45pts therefore
1000/49.5 x 45 is what the runner up gets. 909.1 pts.
add it to the uni tally.

this could be quite useful to add up points for uni, but say if there is a guy who is completely amazing and no one else matches him/her then catch up is difficult. this points scoring system is for elite athletes vs elite athletes.

Let me know how u think bout this
Kay
