Default Another awesome nationals

Bonjour
As u know we had the nationals last week up at the Sheffield cable which was run by loughborough and run damm well at that!!!
The beer was cheap the camping was much better than JB last year as we were on site (with no probs i might add!!!) and the riding was quality.
So i guess over all i'm tryin to say it was an awesome 3 days and cheers to all the guys Harry, ritch, ross etc from loughborough, Andy the owner of Sheffield cable and all the sponsors and to everyone that turned up to make it a success!! Gregs been speaking to BUSA about getting recognition and its looking good so make sure everyone keeps in contact with him!!
Cheers guys
Take it easy

I heard everyone had a good time, and props to the guy's for putting on the event again.
However the crowd "booing" Adam Trotman because he won cable, boat and wakeskate is not cool.
He's a uni student the same as everyone else there and in no way what so ever had an advantage over anyone else. I heard talk of people complaining he was too good and shouldn't be allowed to enter. If this is the case, shouldn't they complain about Pete Ward as well, as I'm fairly sure he was a sponsored rider at some stage. Adz has never had a sponsor, and has only been riding for a few years. He's just good.
The fact that people decided to give his prizes to everyone else was pretty gay as well. If there is a prize for the best rider on the day, then why give it to the person that wasn't the best and didn't win? Isn't that a hollow victory. I know I wouldn't want to take something I hadn't earned.

Transfer all the hatefull energy to getting good at riding. Jealosy won't get anyone anywhere. I know this only counts for a small majority of the people there, but it has to be said.

Catchthatwave: cheers for that mate, was a top event!!! loved it too altho' possibly for different reasons, didn't know how it was goin until i stopped running around. (just for peoples info' the event wasn't run by loughborough uni, it was a combined effort of myself, rich and andy's sheffield cable crew). In our announcements at the end i forgot to thank rich for all his work with me, but cheers mate!!

Sim: no-one was booing adz in honesty, it was all friendly and the guys who did boo him were southampton who all ride with him at JB, and are all good mates. Regarding the prizes, the prize for each category winner was an INDO board. We also had a Lush longboard to give away and believed this to be our highest level of prize. Rather than giving 3 INDO boards to Adz, we gave him the ultimate prize of the longboard, I spoke to him bout this, and he was stoked with it. I think everyone would agree that this was acceptable rather than give him a repeated prize. For your information also, we didn't ever give a best rider award because there are too many categories!!

The same prize situation occured with Ross theobald who came 2nd in 2 events (wakeskate and kneeboard), rather than give him 2 average prizes we gave him a single INDO board as his prize for the 2, with which he was more than stoked to win.

Anyway, hopefully no-one else has no negative feelings from the event, and I'm hoping that I'll be working with Gregg and a few others to combine our efforts into BUSA (or something similar), and possibly next years nationals!!!!!!

piece to everyone, and have a good summer of riding!!
