A cable tour would be easy to do i guess... as long as someone can get a winch! It could have some big exposiore (well if we boarded the cam it would!!!), and small charges for onlookers to have a go could generate revinue and fund our drinking habbits in the evening!!!

Default Tour

I have been thinking about a cable tour for universities, with the local major university playing host to the touring ones, for instance, Sheffield is visited by loughborough mainly (though sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham also use it), so the afternoon/evening event would be followed by a party in Loughborough, Princes and Thorpe are slightly different, though are mainly used by Imperial in london and Portsmouth (difficult to travel too but if there are camping options for these then these would be warm weather options, MK is used mainly by Coventry uni and Plymouth when they travel. Of course there is the new cable in the Cotswolds which i imagine Bristol and UWE will be using. Skegness is the only other cable though not too many universities nearby! Bedford Cable if it's going ahead will not be open for a year at a guess so that is not an option...

i have no said whether this should be wednesday or weekends - and that will be crucial

By using the nearest uni there are options for beds/floorspaces that are cheap and also naturally, very good nights to be had. The timing of this is going to be odd, with the first ones probably in the september/october - before it gets too dark or cold, then the finals just after easter. Problems include the fact that people do exams at different times, travel is always going to be expensive, and host uni's may not be able to accomodate people. As far as judging, i don't think that should be a major issue as it should be a peer thing - Loudest cheer etc or whatever. I have been chating to some eeps aroun who hink this is an idea to work with, and it may need some more talk at the Nationals? possibly
...

enough of the essay - sorry!

Has anyone ever wondered what the point is of a cable in bedford? It 20 miles from WakeMK! Spose is the same sort of thing with princes and JB though.
