Dream on.. Top pro riders struggle to get a new board in the U.K. If you can get a boat let us know your secret!

Well either way thy have got the right idea.... looks like they just had help with it from vodafone...
Thing is whats the difference between a club there and a club here, they charge almost nothing for thier sets so it's not a money making exercise. It's purely a way of getting more people to a better standard... which can only be better for the sport and in turn better for the sponsors. In effect what they are doing with the boat is what i'm trying to do with the Student Nationals this summer in sheffield; provide a comp that is run as a fun social event with all levels of riding hoping to expand the sport to more uni's and more people... you never know one of our Uni clubs may pick up a hot gymnast who is bored with her sport and become the next Dallas (heres wishing its us)!!!

So how do we push sport at any level without big multinationals getting involved?...

Think thats more than 10 characters too.... just

I think sponsorship would be great, but to be honest the big multinational companies are not going to benefit much from us UK boarders, solely due to the fact that the sport is not that big here, so they would not get much exposure for their money! This will obviously change, as the sport gets bigger.

At the moment, I am looking for sponsorship from local Surfing-esk shops, and anywhere with any connection to wakeboarding. Even at a small scale it will be appreciated!

Personally I would due amazingly happy with a winch for the club... so at least that way we could board the cam! Now that would be exposure!!!! I bet it would even make a “and finally” on the national news if I where lucky!

“Move it punts, your sooo last millennia!”

uSe,

i'm liking the idea of the winch. if you managed to get hold of it give us all a shout and will try get some 'renegade' riding done to try get it noticed.

someone build a portable slider so we can get some jibbing done on a local city river somewhere, cambridge, nottingham etc, we can do a uni club tour.....
