The kicker and slider course is about 10-15 quid i think and is well worth doing, but buy yourself a helmet before you do the course.
Hitting the kickers and sliders has not screwed my board up i ride a hyperlite and they are pretty sturdy, but i think you loose your warranty if u have used it on kickers and sliders. You get a few marks on moulded fins but other than that no structural damage.
Also the fins have to 1.5in or less other wise they damage the kickers. But do cause the mark warner slider is rad!!!

Awright Wizen,
I did the course last year. It's a very good idea.
Basically, a pro will come out with you on a double carrier and tell you when to start your approach to kickers/sliders, when to flatten off before hitting them.
The most useful bit about it was when NOT to hit them. like when you've got a swerver behind you or there are waves on the last metre before the obstacle.
Very worthwhile.
laters.

I don't have a clue about how much the courses are, someone said that they are now seperate, one for sliders, one for kickers which is pretty f'n pointless. whatever. And just because I'm a winging old-schooler from thorpe, I have to say that the slider by the carpark was and always will be named 'the sprite' or 'spritey', no matter which random corporation pays to have their name on it. Sliders are where it's at, and there all well made at thorpe, so your board will be fine, as long as you know what your doing, otherwise it's easy to go wrong and smash the sh*t out of your deck. peace
