As i understand it, to use the cable at Thorpe you have to do a bit of an instructional class.
What are the chances of blagging my way on to the cable with no tuition? Ive been riding a couple of seasons and i reckon it doesnt look too bad.It cant be as bad as some of the drag lifts ive been on with my snowboard. |

you dont need tuition to ride the cable but you have to have tuition to hit the sliders and kickers, fo rhte cable all you need to know is cut out on the corners so the line doesn't go slack and pop out your hands

They did stop my mate getting on last season cos he had never been Wakeboarding before said that he needed a lesson before getting on.
We went down to Thorpe last week (without him having done the lesson) and just got on no probs. He also still has his hands, but no fingers  |

I'm pretty sure you don't need to pay for a seperate lesson, but if you've never ridden the cable before, then it's a good idea to go speak to curly (the cable manager) and he'll give you a quick low down on how to learn quicker, and not injur yourself, it's well worth ten minutes that's for sure.
what ever you do, DON'T HIT THE KICKERS OR SLIDERS WITHOUT DOING THE INSTRUCTIONAL COURCE. For your own safety, to stop curly from forking you, and so that you don't get banned from the park. If you hurt yourself on the obsticles and you havent been taught what to do, then they won't let you back. Just talk to Curly about anything involving the cable or riding. have fun!! |
