Default Skiing/wakeboarding on the Cable

Guys

Could someone give me a description of the cable layout at Thorpe?
I've been waterskiing for a few years behind a boat, and tried wakeboarding for the first time at the weekend, but I've never experienced cable, or even seen it in action. Thorpe is only about 30 mins down the road, so I'm hoping to put some practice in, as the bug has bitten

Presumably it's a continuous loop like a ski lift?
It it very different to skiiing behind a boat?

Thanks

R

Thanks, sounds like getting moving could be fun.

Do I presume that once you fall off, you have to get back to a starting point, you can't pick up in the middle of a lake?

You have to swim to the side of the lake I'm afraid, and depending on whether you fell off at that annoying far corner or at the start you have to treck it back to the start.

But is'all good

Well if your lucky they will come and pick you up in one of the boats but the first corner is the worst because you have to negotiate your way around everyone who falls over.

The guys and gals at thorpe are very helpful, although its a bit deserted there at the moment, and will help you get going . You may have to do a starter course if youve never been on the cable before but its simple enough. Check the website for opening hours as they are only open at weekends and one day during the week at the moment
