Default Wakestock Announcement

Just got this from the wakestock people. They want to make sure the wakeboard fans get tickets before it sells out on the festval side so if you're going, buy your tickets today;

Following the rapid growth of Wakestock over the last few years, Europe’s largest wakeboarding and music festival is set to sell out well in advance of the event.

Organisers are announcing this exclusively to the wake industry to give those with a love for the sport and who want to attend a chance to get their tickets before the general attendees know this news. It’s obviously free to watch the main wakeboarding events, but if you want to get into the festival itself then please don’t delay buying your tickets any more than you have to, as Wakestock will sell out a good two weeks in advance.

The riders selected to compete this year have now been informed and we will be announcing them next week along with the main format for the weekend. For those that don't know the music line-up or need some extra info check the website at Wakestock - Europes Largest Wakeboard Music Festival.

The last tickets are still available online also from Wakestock - Europes Largest Wakeboard Music Festival or by calling 01758 710000, or through Ticketmaster on 08700 602339 (24 hours) and via their website at Official Ticketmaster Site: Tickets for concerts, theatre, football, family days out.

I am a wakeboarder and also a festival goer.........
find it a tad dissapointing that some of you guys got to hit the pool gap on sunday when most of us were kicked off the site on saturday afternoon.
May completely have the wrong end of the stick but it smacks of double standards from where i am sitting.
(apologies if i have got the wrong end of the stick)

ghetto, you did get the wrong end but don't worry about it.
Access to the site was simply not an option on saturday and on the sunday we at Alliance were permitted (after hours of begging) to hold a small photoshoot with some of the riders who had flown in from aus, NZ, florida, france and italy and not even had a chance to ride due to the cancelation. Plus given that we had spent in excess of £50K on the pool and had barely been able to use it or take any photos/film etc, we had to try and salvage something. (i never even got the chance to ride it myself!)
I didn't think it was at all appropriate for any riding to happen on the saturday, and after all our hard work building the thing in four, 14-hour days only to have the event cancelled on the day, we were all in shock and close to braking down anyway.

It was a huge shame about the weather all over the country affecting it so much. The music on the friday was altered at the very last minute as the motorways had been closed and a lot of artists didn't make it to the site to perform. This sucked but the fact the team pulled off a full night of music that the 10,000 people still enjoyed, with none of the scheduled acts is outstanding.

I can fully appreciate that there are a lot of angry and disapointed people after the event, but i have to say that the VERY small team of people who organise it did do an amazing job with the whole event and in comparison to past years it was hands down the best yet. There were big problems with the security firm who somewhat took things into their own hands, subsequently pissing people off and causing hell for everyone involved.

I've just been speaking with the girls at Sensation Group and they want to thank everyone in the wakeboard community for your support and understanding in this very hard time. If it wasn't for you guys being so good about the whole thing and accepting this refund voucher deal in order to guarantee next years event, i'm sure they'd all be on the floor crying from the unneccecary abuse they are getting down the phone from randoms.
thanks guys
