...are true!
It's been a hard secret to keep, but we can now announce that there will be 2 Wakestock festival weekends this summer! The new location is in the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxford. The very same Blenheim Palace we did a photo shoot at last month. Having been there myself and seen the site and wakeboard location, this couldn't be bigger news for Wakestock. The place is amazing and will offer the wakeboard event fresh water and at a constant depth with fantastic views for the crowd. Well actually it does get bigger, as both weekends will be 3-days this year, throwing a third night of reveling and hangovers into the mix. We at Alliance have taken up the challenge of building a pool gap at each location, a hard task when they are only four days apart! The Blenheim festivities take place on 27-29 June with the Abersoch shows and Wakestock finals happening from the 4-6 July in the traditional location. Keep checking alliancewake.co.uk for any more news we get, but you can now be in the know before anybody else too. We have set up an exclusive email newsletter for our subscribers and readers, where by any major breaking news will be emailed to you directly before anyone else knows about it - This wakestock news was emailed out hours ago, it's not even on the wakestock website yet we're that exclusive! We promise not to send you loads of boring emails for the sake of it, only the really important stuff so send an email to team@alliancewake.co.uk to subscribe to the wake-blog. Thanks for you support Alliance UK Last edited by sim; 24th November 2007 at 11:55 AM. |

Its going to be weird without wakeboarding in pwllheli. Also im assuming the crows won't be half as big either. For sure though its going to be awesome either way. toby |

yeah toby, wrong end of the stick dude, but my explanation wasn't great either!
There will be two wakestock's. Each weekend will host it's own contest with qualifying and finals, there will be prize money and trophies for each comp. There are also a load of international riders coming from the US, Aus and Europe accross the two weekends. What you said about there being smaller crowds, well I think the majority of wakestock fans from outside the wake scene are from wales and the manchester/chester areas, and will still go to the Abersoch venue. By having a second Wakestock in the south, it means everyone who lives in or near London and fancy's the festival doesn't have to drive 6 hours through the welsh valleys to get there. So the original Wakestock in Abersoch will go ahead full force, the same (but better) as before. If you're a big wakeboarding fan then you should be hitting both weekends. the level of riding will be through the roof at both locations, and even if you live in the south, Wakestock in Abersoch isn't just a contest, it's an experience that can not be missed, and well worth the traveling. |

Yes Sim , well done for securing such a great site, i am sure this venue will open up the sport with a great deal of media interest. I went to Blenheim years ago and remember looking off the bridge at a superb lake.
Will the competition stay as the same format, or do you think it will change because of the increased water time. |
