Hi, we're planning a trip to the Poole/BMouth/Swanage area for the start of October were looking to wakeboard if the surf is poor. Am I right in thinking the conditions are generally too bumpy for boarding in October or is it possible to get some flat(ish) water?

Also, are there any strategically located campsites that would handle our motorhome and boat?

Thanks for any help!

The sea conditions depend upon the wind direction. Went out yesterday and it was like glass, not a single wave. Best time to go out is early morning or evening.

if the sea is too ruff, you can wakeboard in the waterski zone of the harbour. This is nearly always flat and is more like a lake.

There is plenty of caravan sites around the Ringwood/Ferndown area which is only a 10-15min drive to poole/bournemouth.

I would suggest taking a full 5mm wetsuit for October as the water is starting to turn colder.
