I live in the Bournemouth and Poole area and also go to B'mth Uni.

Alot depends upon if you have your own boat, if not theres not many choices.

Just Add Water offer sessions tuesday-saturday at the waterski zone in the harbour. This costs £22.50 for a 2 hour session, although i think this is only available from june to the end of August.

Ringwood watersports lake costs £15 for 10 minutes. Expensive but you do get to ride behind a new mastercradt X5 with a phat wake.

Other places include Weymouth harbour, Quayside on the M3 and Thorpe which is about an hours drive.

If you do have access to a boat, then theres a whole coastline. We usually ride early morning along the seafront at sandbanks or in the bay by old harry. At this time the sea is like glass and is so clear you can see the bottom while you ride. Early evenings are also ok depending on the wind direction. However the latest we usually ride is the second week of october as the sea temperature starts to drop.

If anyone knows of any other places in the area, please let me know.

Ivy Lake is an old skool (fluro) waterski club, its members only so if you want to ride as a guest you have to wait for a guest slot... which can be annoying. However, its cheaper than 'New Forest' if you've got your own kit and you don't have to ride in circles!! The boarders, that are in the minority there, are friendly and would happily add more boarders to their ranks!

Breaking news: Ivy lake WSC is becoming Ellingham Waterski & Wakeboard club. This is due to its relocation to a little further down the Salisbury road... its all happening now, the new lake is bigger and flatter, so drop by and say hello (to a boarder, if you want a nice welcome
 )

Oh yeah, I friend of mine has one of the new X-Stars (only one in the country, I think) on the harbour, give her a wave... she may pick you up? or give you a special wave back!
