Default Boat Advice/ Boat Wanted

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Hi im new to the sceene, i got into kneeboarding last year and loved it - best summer of all time i love owning a boat! I had a go on a mates wakeboard being towed by his fletcher 17ft GTO off a ski pole - i was rubbish at it!

However i thought i realy want to get into this rude boy fun, so i just brought myself a wetline board and bindings from the boat show.

Question is i have about my boat 17ft plancraft sabre. I would like to here your views on what boat i should get or do i stick with mine?

i feel that my boat is too narrow, i have considerd putting a ski pole on it, but will this do? or is a tower on a bigger boat needed - also i would like to here views on what sort of boats provide good wakes....i like the idea of a bowrider prehaps a Maxum 1800sr 1990 ish.

my budget is about £5000

many thanks for all your help! [/img]

Probably get best wake shapes from a proper ski boat, like MC or a nautique, not sure what there prices are second hand, but a weighted ski boat will give a good wake, as this is basically what a dedicated wakeboard boat is

As Paul said, some ski boats will give a good wake. The best one being a later '80's Nautique 2001 (2001 being the model number). If you search around you'll be able to find one cheap. you might have to fix it up a bit, but it'll make a really good boat. and as wakeboarding becomes more popular the price goes up, becuase more people start looking for a less expensive boat with a good wake.

I would totally agree with the other 2 posts, start looking at an old 80's Ski Boat either MC or Nautique they get snapped up pretty quickly prices start generally around 4K.

all the best

if you get in touch with TV Ski the Nautique dealers i happen to know that they have a 2001 Nautique for sale,or they had not very long ago.
also u probably want to get rid of the wakeboard that you bought from the boat show and get a proper one 'cos that one isn't going to help u atall and its probably going to make u think wakeboarding is crap, and it will all be the fault of the muppet that sold you the board!

sorry mr.badger but it gets on my nerves when people sell people crap just to make money when what they are really doing is weakening the wakeboard industry and undermining its growth in this country!
