Better boats are out there...

Look at maybe maxum 2000 sr's with same spec.

Bayliners aren't too bad new but they used ot make them really cheap... thus thin glass and cheap trim. Maxums aren't too much better but a little.

What are you using it for?

Mike

hehe, then buy it, give it some tlc and then sell it on :P

If its for the sea you are not far out in your decision, its just personally i have never found bayliners to be up to much quality wise new ones aren't bad but old ones really did lack in trim level and hull/deck quality.

If it really is a deal then theres no real reason not to buy.. but with contenders from searay (200's and 210's) and maxums (2000's and 2100's) I would shop towards them rather then bayliners.

If you are on a budget i'd even think about getting a slightly smaller boat, maybe 18-19ft. for the money you will get a newer boat that may be a little more reliable with more modern production techniques gone into its construction you will be in for a much better boat.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of budget are you working with? and are you looking at sdoing some work ont he boat yourself or jsut buying and using?

Mike

i'm with towerboy on this one, nowt goods come out of that factory as far as i'm concerned. the boon is course that they are cheap when new and cheaper still on the secondhand market. my big concern would be that omc motor. aint many companies use omc and they went bust back in 2000 so parts are expensive and hard to get a hold of. if it is a real steal that go for it but get that motor and drive checked out just simple stuff like checking the compression on the cylinders can will give an indication as to whether there is any life left in that motor or not.
