Hey everyone,
Just introducing myself to the forum. Live in Surrey so am hoping to get some serious boarding time at either princes or thorpe this year. Got a boat down in cornwall so do most of my riding around there. Was wondering what inverts everyone learnt first and if they have any tips on getting going. Have no problems with going BIG. If Anyone has any reccomendations about where to board near Liverpool (am at uni there) it would be appreciated. |

Hey welcome to the forum.
Pine Lake is about an hour drive from Liverpool, its just off junction 35 on the M6 or go up to Windermere and ride at the Ski Shack, its a bit further but you could make a weekend of it. As for inverts, most people seem to go for a backroll or tantrum first. Try them both and see which is closer. Your best getting some coaching from one of the above mentioned lakes and you will have a hundred times more chance of landing the invert quickly. Later |

The first invert i learnt was a tantrum, practiced backflips on a trampoline then went from there. But if your guna be riding at Princes then they'll tell you all you need to know really

I learnt a backroll first, then a t/s front roll, and at the end of last season stuck a few scarecrows.
The easiest of these I think is the t/s frontroll, although less consistent as the landing is blind as its a frontroll you just have to do so little to land it. I landed my about my 10th attempt, where i did more like a hundred backrolls first b4 I landed one. However I learnt the frontroll 12 months after the backroll so maybe it's just becase I had then been boarding for longer. The one thing I did learn is that you need a good wake, i was trying backrolls behind a small wake which can be done, but it is a heck of a lot easier behind a good boat. |

Sweet, Will definately try and get up to pine lake soon.
Looks like bakrolls and tantrums are next on the list.... and a period of intense stacking. In the mean time im off to buy the higher education's (a vid im told to not go without), and get it right mentally. Cheers Matt |
