Default Wakeboard instructor qualifications

Is there a qualification for wakeboard instructor in the UK? If anyone has info on this, how would I go about obtaining one?
thanks
Kris

There is, pretty much the same specs as becoming a ski instructor.

I'd like to be able to teach as well so am going to get the qualification this summer, along with boat drivers award hopefully.

www.bwsf.co.uk should be able to tell you everything you need ot know, they have downloadable pdf files with the course specs in them.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Thanks Mike!
Yeah, I want to make it official, so when I get back to England, I'm gonna have to get one. I saw the test for the American one, and it was dead easy, though I didn't have the money to take it.

I think you are in a similar situation to me, can drive a boat and wakeboard (ok maybe a bit more then me! ) but would like the bit of paper that proves it and then maybe the chance to work in the field should the opportunuty arise.

I also think that the qualifications are great to put on your CV... It breaks you apart form all the others witht he same qualifications from the same places!

why would you need a qualification from a ski organisation to tell you that you can coach wakeboarding?
please don't everybody bite it is a non sarcastic question! 8)

i mean what is the benefit job wise?
the qualification is so easy to get that it is surely not something which commands any respect-only riding does that!

It usually lowers cost of insurance of your employer. So they're more likely to pick the guy who already have it. And Tower Fairy pretty much said it above it just looks good on your CV and sets you appart. Also if you are like me, it makes it easier to get visa's for jobs abroad, that way you have hard proof you're an instructor for immagration and what not. And good riding doesn't allways mean a good coach.
