Default Any girls out there???

There are no girls wakeboarding at my local club and whenever I go to princes cable there never seems to be any girls wakeboarding there either. Just wanted to know how many girl wakeboarders there are on here.

Hi Caitlin, well i am a girl and i try to board. I used to go at Princes but moved upto the Midlands at the end of last year. I don't do much on the board but I enjoy and thats what counts. There were a few girls that went down there and they seemed nice, they were all better than me so must admit i was that bit envious, but Princes is great, (as you probably know), and everyone down there helps you and makes you feel welcome. So how long have you been boarding? Where is your local club? I think your find that when the season picks up your find more women out there. Regardless it doesnt matter everyone in this sport that i have met are cool.

Two years ago I saw this girl waterskiing on tv and decided that it looked fun. My dad works in the business park opposite princes so he offered to take me one weekend because he had to pick something up from his office anyway. We got there and waterskiing was fully booked so they suggested I tried wakeboarding. I'd only seen wakeboarding on tv once before but it looked pretty cool so I decided to give it a try. I got up first time and I've never looked back. This year will be my second full season and im practising riding switch at the moment so hopefully I'll be doing some 180's soon. I can't do much either but I love it and thats whats important. My local club is a tiny one with only one boat but its non profit making so now im a member its only £4 a tow!!! I love it because its only a 10 minute drive and its really friendly. I still go to princes but only occasionally because its a 1hr drive if theres no traffic on the m25. How did you get into wakeboardng and where do you ride now???

Default Hey

Hey, I was thinking exactly the same thing. 8)

I ride at JB at Thorpe, it's pretty cool but really pricey! There aren't really many girls around there but I usually just go by myself (which, admittedly I hate but none of my friends will tag along.)

How did everyone get into the sport?

My boyfriend saw wakeboarding on the x-games and told me about it, I have never had any hobbies really so I was interested. Went to JB, rode there for a few months, (just going round and round), they said they had no memberships left :? so went to Princes, had a season and a half there and moved upto the midlands last year so am riding at Grendon now (trying to learn wake jumps and switching) and will go to Willen a bit in the summer. Anyway am on my second board, my boyfriend doesnt have his anymore, he has held onto his wakeskate which i have been out on a few times, I have been out on the boat about four times now and have decided I prefer the boat the cable, (even though it costs a fortune). I am officially an addict
