Default Wakeboard & Waterski Magazine UK

Guyz

Just a quick one, I was browsing through my local WH Smiths at the weekend and came across the second issue of a new magazine dedicated to Wakeboarding!!!! Why has nobody including Wakeboard UK not even mentioned this excellent publication?
Surely fledgling magazines like this need as much support from us as they can get! Admittedly It's a little thin at the moment but I'm sure that if readership goes up this can only improve the already impressive articles further
.....go on people rush out and buy it TODAY!
(NO I don't work for the Publishers - I'm just passionate about our sport!!!)

Hi,

Just picked it up today.. second issue looks good.

We've got the link to the mag in the pile of stuff to put on Wakeboard UK so it will get linked as soon as we have a spare minute.

Regards,

Jeremy

Why has no one mentioned it? Because its SUCKS!
Why can't someone publish a good "Wakeboard" magazine?
I looked through the first issue only to find waterski "filler" and the same old interviews with the same old UK pros... not that they arn't interesting people, its just that the interview questions may as well be lifted from "the Edge" (another mag that looks like a poor Corporate newsletter!) or a Sunday suplement interview.
There is more to Wakeboarding than this magazine reflects, a lot more.
If any magazine is going to be successful it has to understand its target audience (difficult in this case, I know) and what they want.

I think the best magazines are writen by people who are passionate about the subject, not just going through the motions. This magazine needs to focus on its audience (this isn't Watersking and its not Windsurfing). Then maybe it will get somewhere!

I disagree , at least they are trying to get it going, not an easy thing in BRITAIN ie always cynical and too quick to put things down.
Why not add your own view in the magazine, I'm sure they encourage an open mind. I must agree with your view on edge though that was a bit ? as you say corporate!

I've only seen issue 2 and thought it was pretty reasonable for the first Wakeboard specific uk mag.
(I've never read the edge so can't comment on that)

Seeing the start of a new extreme sport mag reminds me of watching the progression of RAD (skate mag in the early 80's). First few issues were a bit thin on articles but it got bigger and better as time went on.

You can't start out perfect so you need to give them a chance and we'll see what happens .

I'm not gonna get anal on this subject BUT the magazine does clearly state tht it would appreciate any articles submitted by passionate wakeboarders!! Yes that's US! The more of "boarders" that read it means it may inspire those amongst to submit articles to it.
Wakeboarders in fact wrote a couple of the articles in these first two issues. The more profile the magazine gets (hence REVENUE) the better the articles will become and hence the layout and quality of articles will change accordingly!
You can't expect a relatively unknown sport to gain profile without the hard work of these magazines and our SUPPORT surely some form of magazine is better than no magazine at all?!!
