Default Wakeboarding in france

I am think of hiring a house for a month in the summer in Limousin, France on the edge of lake "Lac St Pardoux" does anybody know if you can just launch on this lake or do you have to register your boat etc. I don't want to tow the boat all the way there to be told I can't launch.

Cheers
Ross

Default Looks like it is possible

Hello, I am not really familiar with Saint Pardoux lake but I thought I should help you as I don't live very far...
They have a website http://sncl87.free.fr/
with all contact numbers . But of course it is in French.
Even for a ntive, it is not very very clear what you can do over there, but it seems like you can take a temporary member acess to put your boat on the lake. the 'tarifs' page gives the price, and a week for a boat over 10chvx (horse power) will be 91 euros from what I understand.
I would recommend you to phone them in order to check....
By hte way, the weather started to get a bit rainy, but the water is still very good (I live 90 km south of Saint Pardoux and we still wakeboard without any neoprene...)
Good luck to you and have a nice stay in Limousin
Carole

Caco - - Can you recomend anywhere to wakeboard around moissac (about 1 hour drive north of Toulouse) I know there is a ski club there "ski nautique club de moissac" but I think this is just for skiing. Also I know there's a cable at Toulouse but looking for somewhere with a boat.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Default What are you looking for exactly ?

hi ! what are you looking for exactly ?
There is a great cable ski in Toulouse, with kickers and sliders and a friendly team (www.teleskitoulouse.com) ... but if you want a boat, there is also a great one in Toulouse (in Seysses exactly, 10minutes South of Toulouse when the traffic in light) with a gorgeous X7 (www.wakenski31.com) .
But, if you know that you are located in Moissac, several options could make shorter drives ! By the way, Moissac is nearly 1 hour North of Brive, which is already 2hours North from Toulouse, so count 3 hours to drive from Moissac to Toulouse !
- in Rouffiac (between Lanouaille and Angoisse, a couple of miles from Moissac), there is another cable (www.teleskionline.rouffiac.fr for all information on cable, they are listed on www.wakeboardmag.net, a new french web site, quite cable oriented for the moment).
- for boat rides, you will find all the local ski clubs on the French federation web site www.ffsn.asso.fr (go to http://www.ffsn.asso.fr/Base/home-annuaire.htm , the list of the clubs, and then choose 'Limousin' in the list on the left). Meuzac and Saint Pardoux are the nearest, and Vassivieres is not far. None of those guys had towers or were really interested in wakeboarding when I phoned them last year.
- and there is also the 'swiss lakes' http://www.easywaterski.com/index.php?d=presse , they have a lake in Meuzac and one in Saint Symphorien... they are managed by a swiss guy.
I only went there once in Meuzac, and found the lake VERY small, but it seems that they may use several lakes around... check them out....
- last choice is to come to Brive la Gaillarde (pretty lake, but we are only 2 boats there that like wakes) where I live and see if the friend that I am riding with has his boat on the water at that time ;-)
When do you plan coming down to the green scenery of Limousin ?
Caco

Default Ooops !

Ohh, That Moissac ! (there another town with the same name another 2 and 1/2 hour driving North) !
So, yeahhh, here, you really have to go to flying saudrune Camp.
They are located in Seysses, juste next to Muret (10 minutes driving South from Toulouse), their cute X7 and good coach.
This is where I go and it takes me 2 hours driving, so believe ma, for me it is the best around ! Their website is www.wakenski31.com
So I mentionned the cable in Toulouse, but there is also another one in Carmaux (10km North of Albi) in the Cap Decouverte leisure center, www.capdecouverte.com)
Pictures are posted at http://www.wakeboardmag.net/mag/mag_...3?album_id=100 .
Both Toulouse and Albi cables seems to be open until the end of October (during WE at least).

The people in Albi also ride behind a boat, but I have never been there. (contact Laurent, tel : 06 84 57 90 79 (0033684579079 from abroad)
for a MasterCraft Star 190 with 280 cv and big mast, mostly on "base de loisir d'Aigueleze", on the Tarn river near Albi.
It is a apparenlty a free water 5km long, not crowded at all.
But I don't think any of them will be open in January... the earliest cable parks /boat opened in April last year...

May be we will meet in seysses next summer.... take care !
Caco
