Default Diesel wakeboard boats

Just read that the boys at mastercraft plan to put out a diesel engine option for there boats. Dose that mean we could be running on red diesel (no road TAX), in the near future.

I heard that as well, it's a great idea especially for uk riders as the amount of tax on fuel over is so high it should reduce the cost for both boat operators and riders alike.

There have been quite a few converted mastercrafts that i have seen running oil burning lumps.

Thing is the goverment has plans to increase the tax on red diesel from 2007 and bring it up to the current level for road diesel. Only farm vehicles and similar will be allowed to continue using the cheaper red diesel. Lesuire vehicles such as boats will no longer benifit from cheaper fuel.

LPG is the only way to go for the time being as its very cheap to convert you existing boat over and pay around 25p per litre or at the worst 40p from a garage.

The guys over at Craig Craft in Lincoln built a Diesel Tournament boat around 1995 which was fine apart from the black smoke stains all over the transon.

Like the sw_cowboy says LPG is the only real option.
