I was at the show yesterday, it was pretty much the same layout as last year, mastercraft were there with their over priced boats, there was a guy with a fully loaded Moomba with Grav Games paint job for half the price of a fully loaded MC. Craig Cohoon was there in force, and sorted me out with a few goodies, cheers guys.
I got my Monster Tower Calender and i must say the quality of the ladies is ten times better than last year, so if you haven't already got one, get one. And i went to see the Indoor Wakeboarding, it was entertaining, and i cant see that it did our sport any damage at all, i think it will have exposed the sport to allot of people who wouldnt have thought about it before, with the help of informative commentating by Matt Crosier. The evidence was the fact that people walked out of the arena and straight to look at the boards on the Cohoon stand. But its worth the visit just to see Will Christian and see the air Ben Hitch is gettin off the kicker, oh and shortie wetsuits are going for a song only £39. :P |

everyone is welcome the their opinion, but I would always pay the money for a mastercraft. Having a while ago watched an X2 being driven straight at land, and it hitting it, and seeing that it caused virtually no damage was a testament to how these boats are built. Plus they are awesome to ride behind!! Comparing a Moomba, is like MG building their new supercar. It's as fast as a Porsche, has some of the same features as a Porsche, but would you really buy the MG or spend the £10K extra for the Porsche. |

i do agree MC have the superior build quality, but you shouldn't be planning on driving your boat full speed at the land.
they are lovely boats and i would have one, if i had the cash. i just think its allot of money and i would check out some of the other manufacturers first. and i cant comment on ride quality of other boats as i have only ridden behind Mastercrafts. i dunno maybe i like to favour the underdog |

did any of you pay attention to the extra handle near the throttle on the new nautique? That shizzle is gonna change a lot. I reckon it's the future of waterski club boats, so versatile.
The wakeboard contest, the guys did a great job with what they had, but if it hadn't all been left to the last minute with things like the slider and kicker surface it would have been heaps better. half the crowd left the room after the first round though. not good. Richie, the sport thanks you for your video wall expertise. saved the day |

Cheers Sim
That crazy astro turf kicker was provided by the frenchies who run a Corona swimming pool tour around Europe. They provided the winches too. Shame about the slider. I was told that, cause they had no way of weighing it, they wouldn't risk it. Probably worried after the pool leaked last year. I thought the guys did fairly well considering. Maybe they need two half hour sessions throughout the day so everyone gets a quick taster. I did hear them suggest that Matt might be doing a wakeskate demo at the end today. So if anyones there, let us know how it went. Nice to see those clips up so quick Jez. The show in general... seriously lacking things wakeboard, only a couple of shops represented and the nautique/mastercraft stands blend in rather too well with the motorcruisers. Oh, I did pick up my Monster Tower calendar by the way. Good work Mike! |

We have been exhibitors at the show & went to visit Friday, the show has a lack of watersports equipment for sale full stop. We have always felt competion is healthy & customers have the freedom to choose where they buy their equipment from, but unfortunatly the hall has been over taken by the likes of tooling manufacturers, shoeshine etc, I only wish there was more for you guys and gals to look at, especially 2005 products. Incidently we sell shorties for under £39 quid all year round !
Toilets were better though......................... & the range of speedboats that are now available at affordable prices are superb. I suggest you go if only for the guiness ! Regards Lesley & Steve www.justwatersports.com 8) |
