Actually I spoke too soon - it tried to snow here this afternoon! And the forecast for Saturday is 5 deg. C max at MK - 'kinell. I'll see how brave I'm feeling & take John's advice and phone them first.

I got on a snowboard again yesterday at the dry slope.... hmmm, not the same thing as snow, but at least it's boarding. Now I have to go into more debt & buy boots & bindings, cos the club ones are rubbish.

1 of each, I believe. Definitely a slider from the pics in their gallery.

Dimmer, at Xscape is the slope long enough for beginners to learn how to carve? I went for the first time over Xmas whilst I was in Spain and got on okay, I went down the blue slope on the last day.

Just thought, is it a requirement to be able to carve before you can go on the slope without an instructor?

How much are leasons there? I have my own board and that.

Maz

If memory serves (I haven't been to the MK Slope for a couple of years), the slope is big enough for learning to carve. I'm now going on the Norwich dry slope, which is small, but you can still carve on it.

In terms of how good you have to be, I was skiing when I last went, so it wasn't a problem for me then. Their policy is that you should be able to do linked turns, control your speed, and use the lift - so just the basics really. It doesn't matter if you're traversing the slope to do your turns.

They have coaching nights for boarding on Fridays, £35. Otherwise you have to call to get a price.
