Default Sand Boarding

A mate of mine has just come up with an idea that sound great fun and really painful.

Sand boarding. We were thinking of strapping my old wake board on and boarding down some sand dunes and kite boarding accross the beach with it.

The only thing is, I'm not too keen to be strapped in by my high ankle bindings, so I was wondering what alternatives you could come up with.

Can you still get hold of some slip on bindings that will attach to the wakeboard?

What do you think of the plan? I'll let you know how much it hurts!

a friend of mine, Ben Hannam is currently in South Africa, working at a place where he's a wakeboard, sandboard and surf instructor. Awesome fun, only problem with a wakeboard is your edges pertrude in the wrong way, so you'll barely be able to turn. You need edges that get thinner to the center like a snowboard, for it to really work.

I've seen this on Australian tv and it looks fun but................................ you know how much it stings when you catch a front edge for an eyelid peeler faceplant - well swop water for sand.............................................. ..................

I must admit I've never thought of sanding my eyes to make them smoother!

But anyway.................nothing ventured, nothing gained so strap it on and keep us posted!
