take em back to the shop, if they moved premises or had them in a sale that won't affect the warranty, specially if they haven't even seen water yet. how exactly did they break if you haven't ridden in them?

I have no idea how they broke to be honest.I have my board stood up against the wall in front of my computer, just to remind me that I can't use it yet, and I noticed the other day that one lace was hanging lower than the other. On closer inspection I saw the problem, but they weren't like that when I got them out of the box. Your guess is a good as mine.

did you wear them at all to try them on ? I have found that if they are going to go it is with very little pressure when you pull on the laces. IE even when you just pull on em. I had this happen on a pair of different branded boots with my little boarding chicklet, just pulled on the laces for her and ping ! she's only 10 so the boots were hardly given any hard. All to do with the rivet operator at the factory.
