Unirider. ive got two wakeboarding teenagers in the family who absolutely live and breath the sport. They have continued to ride throughout the winter with no more than a months break during the coldest spell. They dont do it because they want to compete, they do it because they have an unquenchable enthusiasm for wakeboarding.
last season, after a little persuasion from dad, they competed on the UK tour and discovered a whole new side to the sport. New wakeboarding friends, travelling to different clubs, competing alongside the pro riders, the list goes on but suffice to say that as a family it was a tremendous experience and we all felt that we were part of the sport.
In light of all this is it not perhaps understandable that they are keen to be included this year.

i dont believe this! i say that if they are doing wakeboarding just for the comps then they are in it for the wrong reasons, which is true and you cannot argue that fact. I then go on to talk about that when the tour details are ready to be released they will be released, im just getting sick of coming on here looking at the forums to have the same people argue about why aren't the tour details up yet, maybe because they're not available, you guys bringing it up isn't gun make it happen any faster. i agree with DaveD i do sympathise its just etting tedious seeing it all the time on here!
Drivesalot, does it matter if they ride in the UK Tour? can they not go to ride n slide, or L2R? Other events that have already got their stuff sorted out, maybe wait til the end of the summer and do the nationals too? There's like 5/6 comps there!

Unirider, its quite likely that we will enter other comps this year but that doesnt mean we dont want to be included in the UK tour which we all enjoyed so much last year, surely thats understandable.
Also, and maybe im wrong, but I do believe that the decisions on the tour format were made months ago, perhaps the finer details havnt been finalised but why not inform people of the general idea.

I think the big problem is the lack of information from WUK HQ

From the amount of posts its obvious that everyone is keen to know or speculate about whats going on because we all love the sport and are interested in every aspect of it. To some competing, is not important but to those who have aspirations to emulate the Dan Notts and Ben Hitches of this world, then competition at any level is all part of the learning curve,
and thus unfortunately the requests for information will remain untill the official announcements are made as people interested in compeitng need to plan for the summers events and its probably not very fair to leave things till the last minute.

However if the full information is to be given at the last minutethen one simple thing that could be done in the interim is for WUK to give us a date when the information will be announced. Then we can all sit back and wait patiently.

sorry unirider - this had to be said and I know its boring - but I don't think the people with the same view as mine are the ones to blame here.

I thought the Rookie Riders Competition/League was a different competition to the Wakeboard Urban Tour! I asked for dates because it now seams that the youngsters and rookies will not get to be included in the Urban Tour and the Rookie Riders Comps are an alternative. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Even so, it still seams rather late in the day to let us know about a summer of Rookie competitions when us parents have family holidays to arrange for ourselves.

An idea!!!! Lets all us mums and dads take the kids to the states for our family holidays and compete over there where everything is arranged months ahead.
