Witty - I've pm'd you. Contact me soonest. Potentially interested in possible boat/membership share.

Do you know anyone at the club other than "the management"

Was member last year. Have to say lake not great. Very shallow. VERY in places and kinda small. Also problems with weed and blue-green algae that closed the lake for 8 weeks last year.

Can give you more background info.

I'm a member at Theal. What do you need to know about the club? You should be able to camp there. Remember that private boats can only be used on the lake at weekdays. Weekends are for club boats only (but as a member you'll be able to use the club boats anyway).

Thanks for all replies

I've been down to Theale- its great and v. cheap.
Boats are good (Malibu wakesetters), not XStars but to be honest you really dont need them.....
Shame theres no showers/bar/shop but thats why its cheap

Also a shame that its 80 miles away from me! - about 1 hour 20 mins drive. Life is never perfect...

With regards to Chichester WSC, the boat membership fees say it all about Chichester- sorry if any offence taken here- that snobbery and sky high prices are rife...and the lake owners (not the club itself I hasten to add, all are a very friendly bunch on my visits) obviously want to maximise their profits!!

For this year I will try Theale, problem is with 2 young children it really isn't that convenient....

Regards to all

Mark

Well i now know where chichester is, i drove down there on Saturday...it was the longest drive of my life, in only what i can describe as monsoon weather, only to be there 10 minutes, then another 3 hour drive back home...delightful :?

The nearest club is Ellingham Ski Club- Ringwood, Hants (have a sweet Super Air Nautique)

Just about in the New Forest itself, tow £15/10 mins for guests

Thats the nearest one to the I.O.W!!
