Hi Guys
I see your confused about the coverage of the Wakestock event on both Channel 5 in the UK and the Extreme sports channel all over Europe. Well here are the facts...
A company called Lightage, based in Manchester, UK produced the programme for Wakestock 2001 on Extreme. They were keen to return to the event to film a 30 minute piece for Channel five in the UK in 2002 which went out before the offical hour long special on Extreme. The 30 minute programme was presented by Matt Crowhurst and featured coverage of the top riders at the event and some discussion about the equipment used for wakeboarding to educate the uneducated. It was filmed in widescreen on a top quality format and included some footage from the previous year. The show aired in the small hours of the morning so that all the wakeboarders would be up to see it. It has been repeated once but I doubt it will get any further showings.
The official hour long special on the Extreme Channel, on air throughout Europe, was produced by a company called MEDIA14 who specialise in wakeboarding and other extreme sports. It did indeed premiere in December 2002 and has already been shown on a number of occasions. The next showing is due on the Events Zone Special at midday GMT on New Year's Eve and will undoubtedly be repeated on numerous occasions throughout the year. The show includes riding from all 26 Pro competitors, a crash section from the amateurs and loads of action from the party, such as interviews with the bands and DJs. You will be pleased to hear that the video will be available soon on VHS and a limited number of DVDs which both includ a previously unseen interview with the world famous female DJ Lisa Lashes and of course all the outrageous outakes from the weekend.
I hope this solved any dispute and look forward to seeing you all at the London Boat Show in Jan 2003.
