I think Haggis has a good point. However when you end your post with a statement like "We don't see any wakeboarders nailing it with a kite..." you're not really endearing yourself to your target audience.

Oh thought NM was factually accurate. Didn't like the shorts. Loved the lifejackets.

haggis, read the post again dude, i think you may have missed the point entirely.
because we are the only ones concerened about style over how many flippy spins someone can do?! I think the point relates to "yeah they can so an S-bend to blind, but could they do a indy blind 180?" i doubt it.

Haggis, the person that made the original post said that all comments on the riding were welcome. yeah ok i had a bit of a kitesurfer attack but as someone else said, ending his post with-"We don't see any wakeboarders nailing it with a kite..." was never going to get a pro kite surf response. had it not been for that i may have posted differently. however my views on style would have been the same. as someone else mentioned i never actually mentioned shorts. if you knew me you would know that i could care less whether people dressed like a cliche (or clique depending on whether you can spell or not) wakeboarder or not, all i care about is whether or not a trick looks good. yes these guys are better than average at riding cable, but if you bill yourself as UK no1 kiteboarder as shown here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcLxkzOJtsk , i would have thought that you would be at least "better than average" riding cable. i mean at least with the cable you get a constant pull from a similar angle to the kite, without actually having to try to fly a kite at the same time.

"I have never personally had a go at kiteboarding, but I think a funnier video would be some of you previous posters having a go at some of the things I've seen of their sport, then we could stand around laughing at you too..."
i agree with you but if the no1 wakeboarder in the UK had a go at kitesurfing and it looked like either of those video clips, then i can guarantee that they wouldn't have posted it on here.

anyway i hope you understand my opinion more clearly now (whether you agree or not is not really of interest) and can i just say that i am not having a pop at Lewis the kitesurfer, cos i don't know him nor would i want to make anything more than a tongue in cheek criticism of his riding based on 2 short video clips.
anyway happy new year and don't fret everyone cos the other day i looked up and i swear i saw the sun for a split second-summer must be nearly here...

Cool

Kitesurfing - 90% kite skills - 10% board skills
wakeboarding - 100% board skills

im a kitesurfer but do wakeboard on "non wind days" horses for courses people

dude this is a wakeboarding forum we wouldn't be talking about kiting if the original poster hadn't said what he did. if we wanted to talk to kite surfers we would go to a kite surfing forum. i don't kite surf but i have a lot of mates that do or that have tried it. that and watching it from the beach and the couch is where i formed my opinion, not the best source of info but not entirely uninformed either. you said it yourself 90% kite skill 10% board skill. dude that doesn't even make it a real board sport!
have you ever heard the expression "digging a hole"?

Not even a real boardsport, eh? And having to be towed by a boat or cable is...so what is a real 'pure' board sport?
Like the kitesurf pictures on your shop site by the way...
