Surely the best time to have a boat show espically if your aiming it at the more sports boat / water ski / wakeboard market would be the start of the seaon. Easter would be perfect.

As a shop owner - I would consider having a stand at a boat show around Easter time. - I would have that years new stock to sell too. December is the busyest time of year for my shop so there is no way I would leave the shop to do a boat show.

At the start of the season thats when people are looking at buying kit. I imagine that at Easter time there must be twice as many people thinking about buying a wakeboard than at Christmas time?????

Also if we are trying to get people interested in the sport - if they come to a boat show at christmas and see some winching action as soon they alk outside the door into the cold they are not going to be inspired to go try wakeboarding. At least in early season time all the wakeboard lakes will be open and its a bit warmer.

I think you should move the dates!

If it was just a show for accessories then Easter would defo be te right time to have a show
but i guess as the majority of revenue for the organisers will be from the people exhibiting boats who themselves will be wanting to make sales

boats like cars are produced on a lead time and then have to be shipped so an order placed in december will result in a delivery around easter but a boat ordered at easter will arrive halfway through our super short season which would be a pain

i don't think there are enough retilers of bits and bobs to financially justify a show of that type on its own, as good as that would be for us punters

Time to bump this thread I reckon... Not far off now.

I've been beavering away building my stand today... well.. mostly shopping in B&Q and buying lots of new power tools! Very little actual work been done!

We have plans for a pretty cool stand at Earls court this year with some new products, LCD TV's with films, music etc..

Who plans to head over currently? I've got DVD's, Calenders and other goodies for customers and regular Wakechat members plus WakeyGirl has some insane plans for the Wakeboard/Wakeskate event so it's worth the trip down

Mike

thanks for the reminder on this one

just had a look at the exhibitor list and could only see two possible stands doing gear
if so then i guess oportunities for picking up an early xmas pressi are limited

are there any more and is the pool gap thing still going on

not sure if its worth the trip yet
