Guys, I've been out a lot on the 'mere this season as well ... having been pretty much brought up on the lake. I noticed with interest that the lake is like it should always have been ie. most skiers/boarders trickling over to a bay where they want to ski, then skiing, then trickling back to where they came from ... this is total respect for all lake users, ie. no pissing off canoists and being super aware of not pissing off fishermen as well. The lake is now as it should be. However, I saw one huge knobhead in an IO with tower ski down the full length of the lake then ski right across in front of the ferry and disappear off into the distance down in front of ferry nab. No-one touched them but this sh1t should be stopped and I'd urge anyone to give this type of user some serious grief. However, I was a bit stuck 'cos i certainly wasn't going to hit 20+mph in front of the wardens hut!! Other than that, I reckon everyone needs to be less complacent ... if we all keep skiing during the day and so as many people as poss will see us all then it will force the hand of the NPA to become tougher in seom way shape or form. Guys, I don't want to dictate shiz to you but I reckon we need to keep it as low key as poss and they'll leave us all alone otherwise we might find they're hand is forced. Rest assured I've heard they're tracking this forum as well!!

Low key is good but somthing will change sooner or later. I dont think they will ignore the situation for ever. I guess we have to make hay while the sun shines and hope not to many more people start using the lake again.
Out of interest what are peoples thoughts on the warnings etc that are given out? For instance when I got pulled it was merely on the wardens visual opinion that I was speeding. Now if he was wrong I have an unjust mark against my name. I know they can get speed guns etc but in my case you can not really prove either way if I was speeding or not. |

He he you're such a grass..... If no speed gun was used they can't justify anything against you. That's why they probably can't take their warning any further....they just want to scare you a little.
Fight the power, stand up to the Man and all that! Also...And any idea when we are having our club AGM [Read: Piss Up]? |

We will be on the lake this weekend and will obviously treat the speed limit with the respect, it and and its creators (not enforcers) deserve.
Crap tides on the Ribble I see for the next few days!! With regard to the AGM we need to get something sorted or the event risks becoming a biannual event. |
