"Agree with that, the last public sector IT project I was on took 6 months and about a million quid to get nowhere, brought in a private company and we knocked it out in 1 month." -

and then charged 6x the monthly rate

the governments response is the one that i expected, even tho' i signed the petition.
it is common knowledge if you live here that the government have nothing to do with the bylaw being changed back. the only way is if the blind geezer or someone else can come up with a good enough case to take to the court of human rights, then they could prosecute the national park authority, who believe me, don't have enough money to chase a parking ticket necer mind a court case like that.
either way we win. if they don't prosecute the blind dude then they set a prescedent and we can do what we want on the lake and if they do it will bring massive publicity to something that they would rather keep away from the publics attention and they still could lose in court.
it all looks more positive than it ever has before (except for for DBJTS that is!) as they have never made a statement saying anything other than "we will not change our minds" before.

Its not just me none of the serious skiers or boarders want the general masses back up here ****ing everything up.
Over the last bank holiday the dick heads in the sports boats were beginning to become a nuisance again already, and that’s whilst the ban still stands.
The last five years before the ban saw a gradual dwindling of boats as people tried to unload them whilst they still had some perceived value.
But if the lake is ever given the green light again you will see numbers far in excess of those ever experienced in its previous heydays.
And as 8 out of 10 of them have no idea how to operate a boat safely and without ruining the water for others the outlook would be bleak.

Long Live The Ban!

Yeah i know bro i was just pulling your leg. having said that hopefully if there is a lake management plan then insurance, rya certificates and whatever will be mandatory and hopefully day launches will be banned with maybe a registration cut off date so if you aren't registered by say May 31st then you have to wait till next year. the chav punters will lose interest then maybe

Thumbs up

Education & management is the key, Watersport Centres of Skills training in the areas could be the solution, not only would this promote safe water use but bring desperately needed income again to Windermere. At least if the speed restriction was lifted technically then people would not have to break the law.... you get idiots everywhere in all aspects of life, prehap's toleration & a good management system then we can all play safely? We have had issue on the Norfolk Broads & Rivers but with a management scheme in place & working well waterskiing & wakeboarding on the broads & Rivers has not been banned & is currently under review with a parliamentary bill. With the 2012 Olympics around the corner you would have thought regeneration would be top of the list.

yeah but am i right in thinking that on the broads they allow wakeboarding as long as you have no wake? ie you can't weight your boat up. pretty pointless really you may as well not bother or ski(jk).
managment plans are ok but it depends who makes the plan and i would imagine that the people that have any input will be unlikely to know very much about wakeboarding. i saw the last management plan the one the inquiry wouldn't even read and it was a good job as it was definitely written by someone with smashed toys in their head instead of a brain. but anyway heres hoping someone asks someone who knows something....
