Just to let you know that the ski lagoon at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham (operated by the British Disabled Waterski Association) re-opens for the season this weekend.
The lake is open to everyone (not just the disabled) and operates a Mastercraft Skier 19 with a sky pole which gives a nice wake when ballasted out. There are also unconfirmed rumours of a wakeboard boat being purchased in the near future. The centre is being managed by Johnny Harthill who took over at the back end of last season. (You might know him from when he used to work at the cable ski.) Johnny will be assisted by Charlotte Clarke, who many of you that have been around the boat and cable at Nottingham will know. To book your slot phone Johnny or Charlotte on 0115 9811316 |

Blimey, if they get a big wake boat it's going to be extra fun on the cable!!!
(For those who don't ride there, the BDWA Mastercraft runs up and down alongside the cable.)

You get some good rollers coming off that mastercraft boat as it is.
The lake doesn't have enough depth to allow a big wake to develop, needs another 4ft of mud taking out, the water is only 5-6 ft deep at the 3rd tower. Need to get Ant back driving the boat, flipping good boat driver. Skegness cable was open 3-4 march, not many using it.

Rockape,
The water level in the lake is that high at the moment that you've already got your extra 4ft (and probably more!!!!!) The smaller of the two jetties is completely submerged. Couldn't agree with you more about Ant's driving skills, but at the end of the day people move on - such is life. Hope that doesn't sound too callous 'cos Ant's a good friend of mine but I remember when people were having the same conversation about Ady. If you haven't been out behind the boat with Johnny driving then give him a try - I don't think you'll have any complaints. I've yet to experience Charlotte's driving but she's a tidy little wakeboarder so I'm sure she'll know exactly what you'll need. |

Water didn't look that high yesterday afternoon when i took the dog for a walk down there, i'll have another look this afternoon.
Didn't manage to get out on the water with Johnny end of last season, but i will be booking a few sessions with him, sure a few of us will be booking exclusive days. Seen Charlotte compete up at Sheffield, think she might even have the edge over her brother when it comes to boarding. lol.
