We took our X2 down to Poole last August. It was probably the worst weeks riding we have ever had, but don't let me put you off. The weather was good but the ski area was never flat with upto 4 foot swells, even at 6am in the morning, watch the tides, we got stuck going back into Rockley Park where we kept the boat.

Southampton is a good place if its flat, you ride at Ealing where the ski channel is, you will get about 3-4 hours dependant on the tide, the best place to launch and park is at Hythe (its free) and go through the 6 knott zone to the ski area, past the container port.

Cheers gravity, might ask someone who works in my brother's office (who is about 30 stone) to act as spotter/ballast!

Sound's tempting to head out at hythe like mentioned, sounds good! The Ealing waterski area sounds like a good one, what are the fees like Rich?
