I use a Hyperlite Motive 144 which is a stable board and good for beginners. I would definately recommend it for people learning and from what I've heard the LF Team is similar....

I’m sure all the other recommendations will be fine but my first board was CWB SOL with Mobe bindings, bought it cause it was recommended for beginners and found a good priced one on Ebay.
The original fins were very big which was good initially but I changed for much smaller ones after a while so could slide/spin more easily. The Mobe binding aren’t the best for a single rider but seem to work well for a variety of foot sizes when sharing a board. I got a 2nd hand set of smaller Mobe’s as the other half has decided to give wakeboarding a go, giving me a good excuse to get a new board (CWB Absolute with Faction bindings which is great but probably not ideal for beginners). I’m about 180lbs so went for the 141 but have had quite a few mates/kids come along and all get up with little effort – great beginner board. |
