i went over the top when i was camping in france afew weeks ago (Le Mans) I wanted my phone on, for pictures, music, and shock/horror - making calls with, so i went and picked up FIVE batteries for my phone! Madness. (i did use all of them though)

Hi, If by 400D you mean an EOS 400D DSLR then 1 fully charged spare battery should do just fine. DSLRs generally use a tiny fraction of the power that digital compacts do; I took 323 RAW files the other weekend on two batteries and that was with continuous servo focusing.

one battery for my E-5OO will last about a week of using it all day everyday, just take two batteries

Yeah thats what I mean, have now brought another battery and things looking good, so should not run out now!

take your battery charger and just plug it in in the pub if you have a crisis. everyone does it with phones....

I've done that every year, so long as you ask the bar staff and then buy a pint, they don't normally mind. I've even left the batteries behind the bar before now!

Either way, take the charger as you'll be suprised where you can find electrickry!
