Default Windermere Boat Registration

Going to Winderemere for a week in the summer and we have took advantage of the loophole in the byelaw that allows you to register your boat with the SSR (small ships register) and not with the LDNPA, (so the LDNPA have no records of you).

We have been told that we must display our SSR number at the same size and font as the LDNPA numbers. Does anyone know the size of the numbers (height width and thickness) so we can get some made up before we go?

Yep you have to display your SSR number but you can drop the "SSR" prefix. I have already registered my boat and they insisted I used the same size letters.

I also had 2 letters this week from the t*ats sorry LDNPA this week clarifiying the situation. One was addressed to D Burns @ 10 Lady Acre. Dave I guess you have either secertly moved in with Jonny in the spare room or "ship for brains" is registed to this address but your name still on their system even though none of us own her anymore.

Roll on Saturday, we will be living the dream on Windermere!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope the weather is good for you guys up there. I was in the lakes on tuesday with work, and even though it was foul weather (roads were flooding round thirlmere), all the lakes did look very calm (and also very cold! )

Have a good weekend . I am off to party in Newcastle this weekend, so no boarding for me . I nearly jumped my wake last weekend, though I bricked it when I popped as it wasn't intentional, so I dropped the handle. Then the wind picked up and the sea got too choppy & I didn't have the balls to try it again! and now it is all I can think about! (which is why I am on here when I should be working (oops!)
