Closed toe or not?

What's with the closed toe binding thing? Just wondering what people's view are on them, if you've got some and how you rate them?

I have a pair of 06 shanes, I like them a lot, they keep my toes warm.
They are comfier and easier to get on and off than my old O'Brien Exit 13's.

i have the 06 hyperlite murrays, i think they're amazing. I noticed when i was riding my transits, that my toes come up when i cut into the wake, so with th closed toe, i think it transfers some of the toe lift into the binding and giving a better edge?? just a theory but oh well...
